I heard this the other day, and it took me back to being 13, when I was playing violin and listening to much, much more classical music than I currently do. The entire concerto ranges between 7 and 10 minutes, depending on the musicians and the conductor. This particular excerpt is probably the most famous part of the piece, used in a commercial for diamonds a few years ago. I can’t believe that this was largely forgotten for 150 years.
